Sparkling Seafoam Mis-Matched Bubble Opal Drop Earrings
As a Floridian, this Sparkling Seafoam Collection came from my desire to capture the awe and wonderment of free diving our colorful reefs. What better way to do this than using hyalite opal (aka bubble opal), which has naturally encapsulated shimmering bubbles in stone form.
This kind of bubble opal only comes from one place in the world: the Rock Dreams claim in Milford, Utah. All of this material is self-collected and -cut my yours truly! While bubble opal is usually transparent on its own, I have made doublets out of these stones by backing them with phosphosiderite (the light purple-pink stone) and chrysocolla (the blue-green stone).
These earrings are made with fine and sterling silver and measure around 1.3 x 0.5 in.
But you just must see them in action! To get a glimpse of the light play in these gorgeous stones, watch the videos below.
