Come take a cobblestone inlay workshop at The Makery with me

This is an example of Caitlin Albritton's signature figurative inlay pendants made using the cobblestone inlay technique. She'll be teaching this style of lapidary in her cobblestone inlay workshop at The Bakery

I’m ecstatic to share that I’ll be teaching out-of-state inlay jewelry class!

In March 2025, I’ll be teaching a 3-day cobblestone inlay workshop at The Makery in Bulverde, TX. It will be a combination of in-person and online depending on how you’d prefer to learn.

Their online learning will be much different than what I provide with my online classes since they will be LIVE! This means that you can work alongside everyone else in the class and ask as many questions as you need as we go step-by-step.

What: Cobblestone Inlay Jewelry Class with Caitlin Albritton

Where: The Bakery, Bulverde, TX (or online)

When: March 21-23, 2025

Cobblestone Inlay Class Description from The Makery’s website:

We are thrilled to be welcoming artist Caitlin Albritton to the studio for the first time! Her gorgeous work is a fusion of classic silversmithing techniques and non-traditional lapidary methods, resulting in painterly creations made up of colorful stone and silver.

In this three day intermediate class, Caitlin will introduce us to her unique approach to designing and building pendants using "cobblestone" stone inlay. This inlay method involves carving small rounded pieces of stone to fit into silver cells which we'll fabricate from scratch. She'll talk us through design and fabrication considerations, and help us choose materials for the greatest impact. Best of all, most of the work can be done using diamond bits and grinding tools in a flexshaft - big lapidary equipment will be available but mostly optional!

Students should have solid foundational metalsmithing skills: soldering, sawing, filing, and finishing. And while prior lapidary experience is helpful, it's not required - just be aware that you may need to choose a simpler design (like the pyramid sample shown) if this is your first time out with lapidary work.

Your workshop and materials kit fees will cover absolutely everything you need to participate in class, including rough slabs, polishing materials, and the use of all the equipment needed to successfully create your own cabochons. And as an added bonus, you'll get 30 days access to the same videos our online participants will get... at no additional cost!
