Behind the Scenes: Custom Inlay Cufflinks

When you work with me on a custom inlay jewelry piece, we will collaborate side-by-side during the entire process to make sure you end up with an eye-popping heirloom made with stones you absolutely love.

With my client here, what initially started as one or two planned cufflinks turned into 4 pairs because he fell in love with so many design options!

He came in knowing he liked some of my rectangular pendant designs, so we first started with a few line drawings to determine what kind of look he was going for.

Out of these, he was most interested in 1C, 1F, and 1G. From there, I sent pictures of what stone slabs I have in inventory for my client to pick a few that really stood out to him. Once we had those highlight stones, we came up with a few different stone color palettes to apply to the tentative designs.

This is really an important step so you as a client can really get a better visual of what the end piece will look like.

My client had such a hard time picking between these designs, that he ended up picking two instead of just one! He went with the top left design and the bottom right one.

While I can’t guarantee that the stone patterning will be exactly as pictured in my sketch-ups, they will be even more amazing in-person.
